Empties #11

My favourite scrub so far. I was so frugal with it just so it would last me longer because I can't get this brand anywhere else than on eBay. It's a very harsh sugar scrub, just the way I like it and it has a very moisturising, oily formula meaning there is no need for moisturisers afterwards. It smells like a gentler version of Miss Dior Cherie.
Repurchase: Yes.

Such a wonderful shower product. It's has quite a unique gel-oil texture that transforms into luxurious creamy foam. The scrubby particles aren't too harsh, so I used it as a regular shower gel. It also smells lovely, kind of sweet nutty-floral.
Repurchase: Yes.

A fantastic dry oil in a spray that is so easy to apply. It literally takes seconds and you're done. It has the same scent as the scrub.
Repurchase: Yes.

This is my favourite gradual self tanner. Even from one application I get a decent amount of colour, but it's after three that people start asking where have I been sunbathing. I loved using this for my face because it is more moisturising than the Clarins lotion which I used before. I've actually stopped self tanning or at least I don't do it particularly often, since everyone has made it their mission to inform me of how pale I am, so I like to annoy them by being the human counterpart of Snow White, as it appears they can't wrap their heads around the fact that people with fair skin do exist and they like being pale (in their minds it's almost criminal). Therefore this tan is very old and as it's expected by now it does develop that classic self-tan scent by the morning, but when it was new, the scent was barely detectable and it had a melon-citrus scent upon application.
Repurchase: Yes.

Though it's a creamy cleanser that I had trouble adjusting to, since it doesn't feel quite as luxurious as a balm or cleansing oil, my skin adored this. In those three months that I've been using it, my skin looked so healthy and there wasn't a blemish in sight, even though I skipped AHA products during the summer (I didn't want to risk sun damage, which is ironic considering there were about three sunny days in total this summer). Only Balance Me kept my skin in such good condition. I know I said I find it unremarkable, but now I think it's bloody brilliant. I did use it up quite fast, however, it's inexpensive, so I don't mind.
Repurchase: Yes.

One of my HG items, I pretty much can't be without it for a day, so I always buy a spare well before the previous one runs out. I've been using it as a face moisturiser for three years now and my skin is in such good condition, it looks healthy and is super soft. I adore this stuff and one bottle lasts me ages.
Repurchase: Already did.

A nice shampoo that does its job, but that's it. It leaves the hair "too clean" for my liking, by that I mean too stripped, which is something that an an individual with dry hair don't particularly like. It's ok, but not exceptional enough to justify the price and I much prefer the Oleo-Relax. It smells lovely just like the oil, maybe a bit more masculine.
Repurchase: Not likely.

I've tried quite a few of these salon brands silicone-oils and this one along with Orofluido are my absolute favourites. I find it's the best one for dry hair and has great frizz reducing capabilities. The scent is a love-it-or-hate-it one, to me it smells like my grandfathers cologne, so masculine, but I've heard some say it reminds them of vanilla and sandalwood. I sometimes loved the scent and then sometimes not so much, but it definitely slowly grew on me.
Repurchase: Yes.

REFAN fragrances
I used a bunch of Refan fragrances, all 15 ml that I've had for a really long time. I love these, but I just want to warn you that these do go a bit off after three years, which is a period most people use up their fragrances already, but I'm obviously not such a person. By off I mean that the scent changes a bit, mostly it gets more alcohol smelling and more bland from the start, but it develops the same, so clearly the top notes are the first to go.
A tropical hibiscus scent: floral, clean and a bit juicy. When you smell it, it's like - yeah that's what coral colour would smell like if it had a scent. Actually, it smells similar to Kérastase Chroma Sensitive Cleansing Balm, but it was never my favourite.
Repurchase: No.

A creamy, woody fragrance with some vanilla. I hear others notice a strong plum note, but it doesn't develop on me. To me it lacked something that would make it special.
Repurchase: I'm not sure they sell it anymore.

A sweet, fruity, yet a warm scent that has quite a lot of silage. I get strawberries and other berries with some musk and violets. I liked it, but I got bored with it after a while.
Repurchase: I'm not sure.

The wood, floral notes and musk combined create a simple, fresh, clean and classic scent that is slightly bitter and unisex. This is very highly rated on Make up Alley, but I just never really got it. It's not bad, just a bit odd for my liking and no one liked it on me.
Repurchase: No.

I'm a huge fan of peach scents and The Body Shop's version is my favourite, but this YR version doesn't even remotely resemble anything peach. It is quite a strange scent, like it's not even fruity, but completely artificial. I used it as a room scent to get rid of it. If you want to try any of these Les Plaisirs Nature scents, go for coconut or vanilla, because they are awesome and the scents are true to their name.
Repurchase: No.

Have a great day!

Good Things Manuka Honey Creamy Cleanser

Though I've already found my favourite cleanser, Balance Me is hardly an affordable option, so I have ventured to find something less expensive and Good Things Manuka Honey was first on my list.

Unlike Balance Me, which is a balm, this one is a cream, so it feels very similar to a light moisturiser. I must admit it is a texture I'm having a hard time adjusting to, though it does clean well and actually can be rinsed off just with water, but I like to wipe it off with a washcloth as recommend, so there is no filter of product remaining. It leaves the skin nicely moisturised, so there is not concern that the dreaded dry patches might appear and the skin is left quite comfortable after cleansing. Since I've started using it (about two months ago), my skin looks nice and I've had almost no spots appearing (those few healed up fast anyway).

As a honey scented products fan, I was looking forward to the rich honey scent, but in this product it's very gentle in an typical cream products fashion - so nothing exciting.

Ingredients:

I got mine from Boots International for £4.99.

I'm not in love it. I mean it does its job and doesn't dry out my skin, but it's not Balance Me if you get what I mean. Because it's a cream cleanser instead of a balm, it doesn't feel as luxurious. But all in all, it is a nice cleanser, especially if you're on a budget, it just me that's spoiled.

Have a great day!

New In #17

 L'OREAL L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick
201 Rose Symphony
I believe we have love at first swipe. I've just got it yesterday and despite not being a fan of lip gloss, I find this fabulous. The texture is so creamy and lip balm like, the pigmentation is semi-opaque, the shine is lovely, it's not sticky and best of all it smells amazing. Just as Sanja said, it smells like peaches - my favourite scent ever. I need more of these. Rose Symphony is a stunning warm rose-pink shade with just a touch of gold shimmer. I'll do a proper review with swatches.
I'm not sure if these are coming to Slovenia, but I hear they are already available in Austria.
£8.99, Boots.

 L'OREAL Lumi Magique Concealer
Light
I really hesitated whether to get this or not. I heard it's an affordable dupe of Touché Éclat, but it has very mixed reviews, so some adore it and some find it useless. I've tried it today and the shade looks about right for me, but I don't notice any particular illumination. I'll report back with a full review after a longer use.
£8.49, Boots.

GOOD THINGS Manuka Honey Creamy Cleanser
My beloved Balance Me is on its last legs and though I would repurchase it, I decided to try to find something more budget friendly and since I heard some great things about this cleanser, it was my first choice to try. It's another one of those that need to be removed with a washcloth and I've only used it once, but so far it looks like it's a nice gentle cleanser that does its job. It has a soft sort of honey scent.
£4.99, Boots.

SUPERFACIALIST Rose Hydrate Cleanser
Another bloggers' recommendation in the budget cleansers category. It smells like roses, which I'm not a fan of, but I'll survive. Again as with Good Things cleanser, there will be a review one day.
£7.99, Boots.

SALLY HANSEN Airbrush Legs
 Light Glow
This is instant tan and makeup for legs in a can. The colour is just right for my pale skin to breathe some life in it, as it's about the same colour I achieve with my self tanner and not at all orange, but rather incredibly believable. I'm testing it today, so I just applied it. It's not the easiest thing to apply, partly due to the spray not distributing the product well and it needs to be blended fast because it dries super quick and after that is doesn't budge at all. I does smell funny, almost like a self tanner. I'll do a proper review after longer use, but so far it's not bad, though I hoped for a higher level of coverage.
£9.99, Boots.

The three next bits I didn't get for myself, but I was kindly allowed to take pictures and swatches of them for my blog.

L'OREAL Paris Nude Magique Eau De Teint
150 Nude Beige
This was on my wishlist as well for ages, but mixed reviews and the fact that the lightest shade might be too dark for me kept me from purchasing it. Honestly, if I saw it in person in our drugstores and tried it (L'Oreal get a move on), I'd pick it up in a heart beat. The texture is so light, yet it has nice coverage and it blends so naturally on the skin while leaving a satin-matte finish. I think I'll have to pick up a bottle for myself. The bottle is so adorably dinky, but it doesn't have a pump, however, I don't find it too messy to deal with.
£9.99, Boots.

  MAYBELLINE Dream Terra Sun Bronzer
10 Bronzed Tropics
My word is this gorgeous in person! The bronzer doesn't really work on my skin as the shade just looks wrong and too warm, though it's not orange. The blush, on the other hand,  is stunning - a beautiful pink-coral. It does have gold shimmer in it, which is visible particularly in the bronzer part, though on the skin it doesn't show up. The pigmentation is not excellent, so it's one of those products you have to build up slowly or maybe it's just the top layer that's like that, I can't really say. By the way, it has a strong smell of sunscreen or baby shampoo.
How many of you think this will ever reach our drugstores? No one? I thought so.
£6.49, Boots.

  RIMMEL London Stay Blushed!
001 Pop of Pink
This is a cream blusher in a tube with a sort of a mousse-meets-cream texture. The shade is beautiful, a soft pink with a hint of coral, again another one right up my alley and very close on the cheeks to NYX Cream Blush in Natural. It shows up very well on me, so the pigmentation is sufficient and it's easy to apply, though you have less time to work with than with other cream blushes I tried because it sets fast.
£4.49, Boots.

*MAKEUP REVOLUTION Welcome to the Pleasuredome
18 Exclusive Eyeshadow Palette
The palette holds 18 eyeshadows ranging from neutrals to bright shades. Top 12 are shimmery and bottom 6 are matte. So far I can say that some shades perform better than others, but it's definitely a very nice mix of colours. I like the neutral ones, the brighter colours not so much, but there is a shade that is like MAC Patina's cousin and two shades are very Satin Taupe-ish. The mattes are really lovely and most of them are nicely pigmented. There will be a review with swatches, but so far I'm really enjoying this palette.

*MAKEUP REVOLUTION Nail Polish
No Good Waiting
A frost rusty shade. I'll do a proper swatch one day, though this is so not my colour.
