L'Oreal Color Riche Nail Polish 205 Rose Bagatelle

Rose Bagatelle is a medium nude shade with pink tones, well at least it looks medium on me, but I suspect it'd be a perfect nude on people who don't sport such a porcelain complexion. Having said that, I'm currently a bit tanned (from the bottle, of course) and this is how it looks on my nails at the moment. I only discovered at home that it's actually very similar to Deborah's Smalto Gel Effect in 01, however, it is a shade or two darker. I love such nail colours because they make your nails look so polished, but they still have that bit of a twist on my skin tone with that rosy hue, which makes it look so modern.

It has a nice smooth formula, though it's a bit on the sheer side, but with my thick coats method of application, two coats are enough, though those who prefer thin coats will need to apply three. The application is smooth even though it's not a gel inspired formula. The one thing I'm missing is shine, but I apply Seche Vite over it any way.

L'Oreal's Color Riche nail polishes cost 4.99 € for 5 ml, which is essentially a rip-off, but I bought it when there was a discount. I've used it three times so far and my bottle is already missing a fourth which I'm not terribly happy about.

Catrice Luxury Lacquers Liquid Metal 01 Champagne Rain

Champagne Rain is a champagne gold shade made out of tons of little shimmery bits. I have to say I'm enjoying this shade more than I expected to, as the final effect looks super glam and I always wanted a shade that would look gold, but not so much that it would look a bit orange against my skin tone. It's opaque with two coats because the shimmer is actually very densely packed. The brush is a nice one and fits my nails perfectly as it completely matches the curve at the base of my nails. The one thing I'm not so happy about is that it doesn't always end up even. You can see that on my index finger in the pictures and it happened again the second time and the third time I wore this nail polish. However, since it's a nail polish with a texture, it's not that noticeable from far away. This is the nail polish you deeply regret applying when it comes to removal as it takes forever, but luckily due to the shimmer being so firmly stuck on the nails, the staying power is for the most part exceptional (especially on strong my nails) and you can avoid removing it for quite a while. I have however experienced some cracking on one nail, but the nail polish didn't peel off.

I bought in Müller and the regular price is 3.79 €.

On the left is Catrice Luxury Lacquer Million Brilliance in 01 It's Showtime, which is about to be discontinued, so grab yourself a bottle soon if you planned on getting it.

Have a great day!

Revlon Colorstay Nail Envy 400 Royal Flush

So everyone is releasing their version of gel manicures-inspired formulas and Colorstay Gel Envy are Revlon's answer to the trend. I am really enjoying these new formulas and I feel like finally after years there is progress in the nail polish market, especially when it comes to pastels. But I have to say I have never tried such a perfect one coater as this one.

Royal Flush is a hot pink/ magenta / fuchsia shade that is more on the cool side and it also has small duo chrome pink-purple frost in it, which only gives the shade that cool tone, but it isn't obvious shimmer. The formula is very thick, but smooth and it's super pigmented. All these factors make it the most perfect one coater I've tried to date. Due to the thickness it already feels like you applied two coats, so applying another one before the nails are dry, makes it way too much. However, no matter what kind of nail polish I use, I always apply two coats purely because like that, the nail polish lasts way longer (but this is one coat on the pictures with no base or top coat). With this one I just wait until it's completely dry, it doesn't even have to be on the same day to apply another coat. One thing that isn't its best feature is the lack of strong shine, which gel formulas tend to have. The brush is a classic one, so medium width and it takes three strokes to paint the nail. Don't ask me about staying power because every nail polish lasts super long on my nails.

Slovene and Croatian readers can get it on Click2Chic, international ones check your drugstores - it costs £6.99 in Boots.

I'm also wearing Born Pretty falsies #HS-43 and new Revlon's Ultra HD lipstick in Rose. Both things will be reviewed in the future.

 Have a great day!

Essence Effect Nail Polish 32 The Black Cat

In the last years there has been an influx of different nail polish effects and finishes. I've tried the matt effects already, but I never had the chance to try the latex effect and I didn't expect it to be so close to the real thing. I actually got this nail polish to fix scuff marks on bags and purses, which might sound odd to you, but it worked.

Compared to their Black is Back nail polish, this has a thinner formula and yet just like at that one, two coats were enough for full opacity. For some reason it took a lot of coats on the nail wheel to reach full opacity, but I don't know what that is about because on the nails it performs ok. It takes a while to completely dry into a matte-latex finish and then it looks like medicinal gloves, but in a black version.

The brush was nice to work with as with most Essence nail polishes and it general the nail polish performed above my expectations. I got it in Müller for  1.49 €

L'Oreal Color Riche Les Blancs 858 Ocean Porcelain

I wanted a proper pastel blue nail polish for a while, but always forgot to check which ones we actually have here and as far as I knew most were too dark for my taste. Les Blanc collection isn't new, but it caught my eye quite a while ago and yet passed it by afterwards countless of times because my interest in nail polish is much lower than in most other makeup products. Les blancs is a collection of off-white shades, basically very light pastels and in it is the most perfect pastel blue nail polish I ever saw.

Ocean Porcelaine is a white base with a touch of sky blue in it and it has that tiny bit of greyness to it, which makes it so special. It looks so pretty on the nails, I just can't stop looking at them. The formula is quite a sheer and light one for a pastel nail polish, so I need two-three coats for an even opaque finish, but it depends on the thickness of the application. I am very spoiled by the recent generation of "gel effect" nail polishes, which bought along much improved pastel formulas, so this one as the member of the "old nail polishes" isn't as good, especially when it comes to how even it looks on the nails, but it's not the worst application in the world. The brush is of medium width and works fine.

I got mine in DM for 5.19 €. The bottle contains only 5 ml, which is very little for the price, but I adore the colour, so I allowed myself such luxury.

Have a great day!

Essence The Gel Nail Polish 13 Forgive Me

Forgive Me is one of the completely new shades by Essence and a part of their The Gel Nail Polish line. Just one of the improvements that these gel formulas brought are much better performing pastels and this is precisely such a shade.

Forgive Me is pastel Miss Piggy/Barbie light warm pink. It looks a bit darker on the nails than in the bottle, so I wouldn't put it in the nude category, also because it does a have a level brightness to it against my pale skin. This is one of those super girly colours, but appropriate to be worn for so many different occasions.

I can now say that the formula is a "classic" gel one. If you ever tried nail polishes like Deborah Smalto Gel Effect, this is very similar. It's a thick, but smooth formula that is very opaque, almost to the point of being a one coater, but it mostly needs another one for a perfect even finish. Just as all such gel formulas, it has a strong shine, which lasts quite well, several days at least. The brush is one of those wide ones and performs so well despite the narrowness of my nails.

Staying power and drying time are both impressive. I used it twice with no base or top coat and I noticed no difference in staying power if I would. These nail polishes are certainly fantastic for the price.

I got mine in Müller for a very affordable 1.69 €.
Have a great day!

Max Factor Glossfinity 155 Burgundy Crush

Burgundy Crush is a slightly redder Bahama Mama, so another variation of my beloved deep warm purple-red colour. This is the colour I wanted Revlon's Bordeaux to be, but that one turned out too red on my nails The formula is a delight and due to excellent pigmentation it's pretty much a one coater with my type of application which favours thick coats. Because of that it dries quite fast even without a top coat. I was washing the windows not 15 minutes after application and it survived just fine. The brush is an average width, which suits my nails since they are very narrow. The only issue I have with it is that it doesn't stay glossy for more than a day.

It costs 6.99 € in DM.

Have a great day!

I Updated my Swatch Gallery

You may know I already have the lip Swatch Gallery for a couple of years now (you can find it under the banner). Some months ago a reader bisa asked me if I plan to do a nail polish swatch gallery, so here it is. It's added at the end of the Swatch Gallery and you can go check it out any time. I also plan to update it regularly, just as the lip swatches and the pictures as well as the text below are links to the original reviews. I didn't include discontinued shades because that would be pointless, except for one Essence one because there still might be bottles of it left and I kept a few limited editions ones as they can probably still be bought online. Essence nail polishes have been reformulated, but the shade names are the same, so I presume they also are the same colours. There might be a few nail polishes that aren't sold any more, but I couldn't be bothered to investigate for each which ones have been limited editions or discontinued.

Any caught your attention? I bet you though I have more mint shades. I do, but they are discontinued or limited editions.
Have a great day!
