Pa Dolly Love HS-37 False Eyelashes (Born Pretty)

So I've got another pack of eyelashes from Born Pretty for you today. And yes, I know I'm probably the last person who needs false lashes, but it's just a bit of fun. I loved the first ones I showed you, HS-43, despite the issues of them not sticking nicely in the inner corners (an eyeliner hides everything anyway) and I'm even wearing them in my profile picture. Since those are tapered just as Ardell's Demi Wispies, I wanted a different shape for a change and decided on a very classic rounded one. I knew these will be even more dramatic than HS-43, but HS-37 are absolutely huge. I think they may be already too much for me, though with a very dark smoky eye they could work, but I believe that these might be better suited for people with large and deep set eyes.

HS-37 are long and dense lashes with a rounded shape. Compared to HS-43, these are so much easier to get out of the box because they are on a clear plastic string and can be just pulled out of the box. They are also a lot easier to apply and they fit my eyes well in terms of length, which I appreciate because there is no need for cutting them. Due to the strip being clear, there is no urgent need to hide the seam with an eyeliner if you glue them very close to the lashes, but I still like to wear one (I'm not wearing liner in any of the pictures). I can feel these on the eyes, which is not surprising considering how big the are.

I included a comparison of HS-37 and HS-43. See how much more drama HS-37 bring to the eyes? click on the picture is you want to see it larger.

Other makeup on the left: L'Oreal Infallible 24h Matte foundation, Maybelliner the Eraser concealer, Essence Big Bright Eyes Pencil Highlight It... Nude, Catrice Lumination TE Powder Blush Flushed-Fiction, Mac Sheen Supreme Full Speed
On the right: Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in Lovely Pink, Revlon Ultra HD lipstick in Rose, Essence Big Bright Eyes Pencil Highlight It... Nude.

I think these lashes scream drama and I would wear them only with an intense smoky eye. These don't like natural lashes in any way, but sometimes you just need a pair that is a bit more fun. I do of course prefer HS-43's.

You can get them on the Born Pretty website where they currently cost 4$ for 10 lashes (there is no glue included). You can use a code MKOH10 for 10% off entire purchase.

Have a great day!

Born Pretty Eyelashes #HS-43 (Pa Dolly Love)

I've been wearing these in so many recent posts and Instagram images that if you read at least some of them, I'm sure you've already seen me wearing these. My natural lashes aren't exactly short or sparse, but nonetheless, I really wanted to give a pack of Born Pretty lashes a try and I choose these #HS-43 that come in a pack of ten.

I immediately compared them with my old favourite Demi Wispies and noticed that they are at least a third shorter, so I was concerned they might be too short for me, since my natural lashes are quite long. Well, these turned out to be even more dramatic on my eyes than Demi Wispies. They have a similar tapered shape with short lashes in inner corners and then gradually longer ones towards the outer edges, but they are a lot denser lashes than Wispies. On my eyes they are a bit short in the inner corners, but huge and fluttery on the outer corners. The effect is very thick and long lashes that don't exactly scream natural look, but they look so cool with a smoky eye.

These are much harder for me to apply than Demi Wispies, mostly because they are too wide for my eyes. I cut away a few millimetres before applying them, but I still have an issue with these lashes and that is that no matter what I do, I cannot get them to look nice in the inner corners. They are always glued oddly and I think this has to do with the black seam, but I just wear black eyeliner to hide the odd position of the lashes. Glue is not included, so I use my Essence one, which isn't that good, so I need something else. Though these lashes are light, I can feel them in my inner corners. It's not annoying, it just makes you aware that you're wearing them.  I wear them with either no mascara or just a touch of it to tint the lashes because otherwise it just looks way too much on my eyes. Also these are the type of lashes that demand some makeup on the eyes, at the very least a liner to hide the seam, since it's black. I don't have any other makeup on in the first two pictures, so you can see how they look on its own.

As  said before these come in a box with 10 pairs. The lashes aren't glued on, but sort of tied on. They are lashes on a string is what I'm trying to say and the first time I had no idea how to get them out. I ended up cutting them, but almost ruined them in the process. I wish they were stuck on instead like Ardell's.

I'm happy with these considering how many you get for the price. They are huge on my small eyes and it takes more work to blend them in with my lashes, but I love these with a bronze smoky eye because it makes it look so much more glam, so these are definitely for those who want drama. They aren't the easiest to apply, but I'm not that skilled at putting on lashes anyway. I have worn them loads, especially when I take pictures for the blog as my natural lashes seem to just disappear on full face pictures. I would love to try some more of their lashes, they are nice for the price. They are not Ardell's, but they are much more affordable.

These lashes are available on Born Pretty and currently cost $6.39. With a code MKOH10 you can get 10 % discount.

Have a great day!

Ardell Demi Wispies

Ardell's Demi Wispies are some of the most popular falsies, at least according to reviews MUA. I completely understand the hype. These are so lovely! And pretty! I've never actually worn false strip lashes before, only individual ones from Misslyn, which were too short for me (number 2), so I've only worn them to make my lashes look thicker. I've tried the Essence ones for a minute, but I hated how fake they looked and they have been lying in my drawer untouched since. My natural lashes are quite long, so technically I don't need falsies, but I will admit that my vanity got the best of me.

They look like individual lashes on a clear strip. The lashes are different lengths and they flare out at the end. They are quite long, but it's still a suitable length for everyday wear, or if you're not so brave, you can wear them on special occasions. The band is so soft and if placed properly (not too close to the inner corner) you can't feel them at all on your eyes. They feel almost like natural lashes and are all in all very comfortable to wear. The size of them is perfect, which means I don't have to cut them and are so easy to apply.

They're the perfect thickness and don't draw too much attention despite the length, actually they look almost natural, so the overall look is like you have nice wispy, long and fluttery lashes. My mother actually thought these were my real lashes for a moment. Compared to Eylure Katy Perry's 'Oh Honey' lashes, these don't have a black strip and my cousin commented that because of that it's not so apparent you're wearing falsies when you close your eyes.

I use Essence's Frame 4 Fame lash glue, which is ok, but the lashes start popping off on the edges after 8 hours. I should invest in Duo.

You can find pictures of my natural lashes in my mascara posts here for comparison. The lashes in the inner corner are the same length as my natural ones.

I've worn them four times so far and they still look like new, but I never put any mascara on them (I just put one coat of mascara on my natural lashes). I think I'll get many more uses out of them. I got mine from lookfantastic for about 6€, but you can get them cheaper on eBay and Cherryculture (but the shipping might cost you more).
I really like these and I will repurchase them. If you're new to false lashes and you want something more natural, but still a bit dramatic, I can't recommend these enough.

Have a great day!

Katy Perry For Eylure False Lashes 'Oh Honey'

Quite some time ago, Katy Perry launched her own false lashes collection in collaboration with Eylure. There are four different lashes available and Oh, Honey look the prettiest in my opinion, because they slightly flare out in the outer corner, are moderately long and not too thick. These aren't mine, but my cousin's. She bought them for a special occasion and came to me to do her make up. These are nice to work with, the band is soft and they are very pliable. They were a bit too long, so I had to cut of the outer edge a bit. The glue works ok, but I never had Duo so I can't compare.

Ok, now for a different pair of eyes for a change, here are my cousin's hazel eyes without makeup:

And with:

Because the lashes fan out towards the outer end, it elongates the eyes a little. The lashes look full and wispy, but not overly dramatic. Honestly, I would mind having a pair of these. As I said, I did the makeup. Obviously, I'm no makeup artist and I just did a simple look with Catrice Mr. Copper FieldNyx eyeshadow in BlackL'Oreal Infailible in Endless Chocolate and Hourglass Beige. She doesn't let me get too crazy with the makeup, so this is sort of a follow-her-instructions look and she did her own mascara. Mascara is Essence get BIG lashes and foundation is Bourjois Flower Perfection. The pictures are a bit washed out, because I took them under artificial light (Phillips bulb cool daylight) since it was already dark outside.

Slovene readers can get Katy's lashes in Interspar, she bought them in the one in Citypark for 8.85€ and I believe they sell all four (depends on the stock). Readers from other countries can get them on Asos, but I don't know where else are they sold.

Thanks for reading!
